Last weekend, the chairman of the St. Petersburg Physical Culture and Sports Committee, Anton Shantyr, together with the president of the Russian Basketball Federation, Andrei Kirilenko, the president of the St. Petersburg Basketball Federation, Pavel Oderov, and the general director of BC “Zenith”, Alexander Tsarkovny, inspected the progress of the construction of the Olympic Center in the Frunzensky District.
The sports complex is being built on Zagreb Boulevard, close to the “Comet” Sports Complex, where young athletes of eight Olympic sports, from boxing to badminton, as well as wushu and kickboxing masters, train. The object will appear thanks to the regional project “Sport – the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
The specialized sports facility for the training of athletes includes three basketball halls (one – 36×24 meters and two – 30×18 meters) and the AFP hall (exercise hall).
– The Olympic basketball training center will be put into operation in December 2022, – noted the head of the industry committee, Honored Master of Sports of Russia Anton Shantyr. – The builders assured that there will be no delays in the delivery of the object.
